DSCF8206The following account was recorded in 2002 by BBC Scotland’s Ken MacDonald. William Walker (left, pictured with his Lancastria commemorative medal - Aug 2008) is 90 years old and originally from Glasgow. After the Lancastria he spent two years in North Africa with 7th Armoured Brigade, subsequently took part in the invasion of Italy and later again Normandy. (Update) Mr Walker passed away peacefully on 20th October 2009, aged 91.
