Guidance on playing Lancastria, History of a secret sinking
Congratulations on buying this DVD and in doing helping towards the cost of the new Lancastria memorial.
The following instructions will allow you to play the DVD. This documentary film, which won best international maritime film of the year in Toulon in 2004, has been recorded in both French and English language versions… on the same DVD!
To play the English language version of the film you need to follow the instructions below.
Insert the DVD into your DVD player.
The DVD should automatically load and the main menu screen appear (as below).
The Main menu will default to the French menu and French language version of the film (this is because the film was made and produced by a French film company). This will show an “English version” symbol at the bottom right of the screen. (The main title of the film, will also be in French, “Histoire d’un naufrage confidentiel”.
To view the English language version of the film click down until the text “English Version” are highlighted and select this.
The following screen will then appear:
You will notice that the film title has changed to English, “Lancastria - The Story of a secret sinking”.
To view this film click “Movie” and the English language version will then begin.
Please note that all the bonus material was shot in French, although a number of the interviews were recorded in English. ALL profits go towards the Lancastria Memorial Fund.
